Lent Talk
John's Farewell Discourses

Sunday 18th February 11.30 am Tring Parish Hall

John like the other evangelists begins his Passion narrative with Jesus sharing a meal with his disciples.  However in John’s Gospel there is no institution of Holy Communion, instead he alone gives us the foot washing.  After this he gives us an extended piece of teaching to the disciples.  This is known as the Farewell Discourses.

Canon Martin Banister will give a talk on these Farewell Discourses followed by a soup lunch. You may wish to read Chapters 13 - 17 beforehand

Vegetarian and gluten free catered for.
No booking needed, just come along.

Sunday 3rd March - Hachi – A Dog’s Tale (PG)

Professor Wilson discovers a lost Akita puppy on his way home.  Despite objections from Mrs Wilson, Hachi endears himself to the family and grows to be Parker’s loyal companion.  As their bond grows deeper, a beautiful relationship unfolds.

Sunday 17th March - Waiting for Guffman (15)

An aspiring director and the marginally talented amateur cast of a small town Missouri musical production go overboard when they learn that someone (the eponymous Guffman) from Broadway will be in attendance.
