Our Church Life
Our congregation and the wider village community play an active part in our church life.

A group deals with the weekly task of providing floral decoration of the church, working in pairs to a mutually acceptable rota. Flowers are used where ever possible from village gardens, helping to bring the village community into the centre of our worship. New members are always welcome and should contact Caroline on 851300.

Similarly, a group keeps the church clean and tidy on weekly rota and this supplemented twice yearly with a more major clean down. We can never have too many volunteers for this essential ministry.

Another group reviews periodically the needs of the fabric and other maintenance tasks, which are often dealt with on a voluntary basis. A more major professional review is conducted every five years by our professional architects, in conjunction with the Diocesan Advisory Committee. This often needs to important work requiring a Faculty and involving considerable expenditure. Funding of these more major items is made possible by the efforts of the Friends of Aldbury Church.

The churchyard is looked after with the help of periodic working parties and the response by the village is quite remarkable; a huge amount of work being accomplished in just a few hours.

Our worship is planned with the participation of a group of lay people, helping to ensure that the congregation plays a full part, including lesson reading and leading intercessions.

The pastoral needs of the community are addressed by a group that identifies appropriate encouragement and support for those in need and the Vicar is kept aware of people who can benefit from his help and counsel.

Spiritual growth is helped through discussion and study groups meeting, not only through Lent, but at all times of the year.

Needs of our young people are monitored through our involvement with the schools and by their participation in the hugely successful Junior Choir.
